During the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) restrictions, our Advice Line and Family Carer Practitioner teams will be able to help provide carers with a formal letter requesting permission to use vulnerable shopping slots at supermarkets and shops to obtain essential supplies for the person they are caring for.

The letter will also state that you need to travel to provide care to the person you support or to collect vital medication or shopping and deliver to this vulnerable person.

Please note, if you would like a letter, you must be registered with Carers Matter Norfolk, which you will be able to do through our Advice Line team.

The letter will be for all carers looking after a family member or friend who has an illness, disability or is elderly and is considered to be vulnerable or extremely vulnerable due to COVID-19. You can use this letter to present to a supermarket, other retailer or a police officer if required.

Please call our Advice Line on 0800 083 1148 or Live Chat with an adviser on this website if you would like to receive this letter.
