A family fun day aimed at raising awareness of services and organisations for carers throughout Norfolk has been held to round off a week of activities. Carers Matter Norfolk organised a number of events across the county as part of Carers Week. It ended with a special carers information day and family fun event at the Costessey Centre near Norwich on Friday. The event combined fun and games with information for carers about different services and organisations who can support them.
Kevin Vaughan, service manager for Carers Matter Norfolk, said: “It is so important to hold these awareness and information events, both during Carers Week and throughout the year.
We want carers throughout Norfolk to realise they are not alone. Carers Matter Norfolk offers services that are tailored to meet what matters to them as a carer.
We support carers of all ages through our advice line, community support, counselling, education, events and much more.
Carers Matter Norfolk wanted to thank the following companies for supporting the family fun day – Thurlow Nunn, Namco Funscape in Norwich, Sainsburys in Great Yarmouth and Norwich, the Marina Centre in Great Yarmouth, John Michael Hairdressing in Great Yarmouth and Boots in Norwich. Roadshows, open days and the fun day were among the high-profile events with the organisation declaring the week a success in shining a light on the support available.
