Did you know that you can borrow assistive technology equipment from your library to support independent living?
The Technology Enabled Care (TEC) Lending Library is a new service for Great Yarmouth and King’s Lynn carers and the people they care for. The service is initially available at King’s Lynn and Great Yarmouth libraries.
The service allows you to borrow the equipment for free for six weeks to see how the assistive technology can support independence whilst keeping the person you care for safe in their own home. It is a great way of trying the equipment out to see if it works for your needs before making the decision to purchase it yourself.
The equipment on loan are easy press pendants, movement sensor transmitters and door monitors. The equipment is easy to use and set up and library staff are on hand to help you with advice and information sheets.
The Norfolk County Council Assistive Technology Team will be at
Great Yarmouth Library on Wednesday, 1 December, 2.00pm-3.00pm
King’s Lynn library on Wednesday, 19 January 2022, 10.00am-2.00pm.
You are welcome to go along and meet them for a chat and cup of tea. They will be on hand to answer any queries you have about the service and using the equipment.
For more information on Assistive Technology and how it could support you and the person you care, visit the Norfolk County Council Assistive Technology website or speak to your local library staff in King’s Lynn and Great Yarmouth.
