About NHS Norfolk and Waveney Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG)

NHS Norfolk and Waveney Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) was launched on 1 April 2020.

It was formed following the merger of the NHS CCGs for Norwich, North Norfolk, South Norfolk, West Norfolk, and Great Yarmouth and Waveney.

They are responsible for planning and buying local health services. This process is known as commissioning.

They serve a population of 1.1 million people with a budget for healthcare of £1.6 billion.

They work with patients, healthcare professionals, local communities and councils to make sure the right services are in place.

But they don’t provide care directly. They have contracts with hospitals, community and mental health trusts, voluntary sector organisations and the ambulance trust who provide the care and treatment.
