When we are looking after someone an unexpected medical situation – for us or the person we are caring for – can be a real concern and have extra impacts. Sometimes we may not know what the best option is for getting the right help for ourselves or the person we are looking after.

The Improving Lives Together website has information on where to go for the support you need – it can help you get the right advice or treatment more quickly. Just head to improvinglivesnw.org.uk/our-work/urgent-health-help/

Pharmacy First service

One of the options that you will see on the Improving Lives Together website is your local pharmacy. There is also now a new service in Norfolk called Pharmacy First. This service can help with healthcare advice and potentially treatment for several common health conditions without you needing to get a GP appointment.

Pharmacy teams are trained to provide clinical advice and treatment for a range of minor illnesses. If symptoms suggest it’s something more serious, they can point you to the right place.
