Dear carer,

We are here to help you in your caring role. Below, you can see:

  • Details of how we will be in touch to talk to you about your caring role.
  • How you can download your welcome pack with useful information and guidance for carers.

Carers Matter Norfolk is the countywide service funded by Norfolk County Council, the NHS and the Life Chances Fund to provide support to unpaid carers.

Free support is available to carers living in Norfolk, or who are caring for someone who lives in Norfolk.

The support we are able to provide to carers is flexible in approach and tailored to meet what matters to you as an individual carer.

We will be in touch to talk

Understanding you and your needs is important to us ensuring you have the support you want and need.

One of our advisers will speak with you to find out more about your situation – how you are coping and what you would benefit from. The number they will call from will be 01603 365285 – we’d suggest you save it in your phone or make a note of it so you know it’s us calling. (If you need to speak to someone sooner, please do call our advice line – on 0800 083 1148.)

Our adviser will talk to you about the next steps for you getting support, which may include a Carer’s Assessment. This is done to assess what support you are entitled to. Do not be put off by the word ‘assessment’, it is assessing what can be done to make life easier for you as a carer, not testing you.

You can find out more this carersmatternorfolk.org.uk/information-and-advice/your-rights/your-right-to-a-carers-assessment/

If your situation changes at any point, you can call us on 0800 083 1148 or email us at info@carersmatternorfolk.org.uk.

Thank you for all that you do

Every time we speak to a carer it reminds us of the amazing and valuable role played by each and every one of you. Thank you for everything that you do. So much of what you do will be unseen, but be assured, we know the importance and value of all you do.

Yours faithfully,

The Carers Matter Norfolk Team
